Start your meal with the Kale Salad, a refreshing blend of garbanzo beans, shredded carrots, and pomegranate, all drizzled with olive oil and lemon juice. When it comes to the main courses, Mamma Khouri's truly shines. The freshly baked Zaatar, topped with ground thyme and sesame seeds, is a must-try, as is the Lahme BiAjeen, featuring marinated ground beef bursting with spices. Third time here and every visit has been fantastic. I tried a bit of everything that was ordered at my table, and with each bite I exclaimed “Yum that is so good!” The hummus is smooth, well-balanced, and goes so well with the homemade pita. The rice is delicious, fluffy and everyone wanted to keep eating it. The meats (chicken shawarma, beef kebab, and chicken kebab) all had such wonderful flavor. The falafel gyro was huge and had great flavor as well. I will definitely come back again!

We had the spanikopita, chicken shawarma platter, and baklava. The food was extremely flavorful and well-seasoned. The baclava was probably the best version of the dish we have tried anywhere. The atmosphere was casual and pleasant though the door alarm was quite loud and became annoying for those of us sitting by it.

Husband and wife duo at Mama Khouri’s have created a genuine Syrian restaurant that honors ancient traditions of hospitality, fresh ingredients and simplicity to present how Syrians take pride in their kitchen. The prices are reasonable and the ambience serves to support the main attraction: good food with generous portions. This is on my top 3 restaurants for the Portland area, because they honor their traditions and don’t reinvent good food with a new identity. Take a moment and ask the Chef on how they manage to present their dishes with just the right aromas !

Mamma Khouri’s is my favorite Middle Eastern restaurant anywhere. I feel happy just sitting there, waiting for my meal. The staff is so kind and the food is divine! It’s flavorful and delicately spiced, with generous portions. Everything is good, but the lamb shank stew is really special. Mamma and Baba Khouri have created an oasis of peace and culinary delight in a city renowned for great restaurants. If I could give 10 stars, I would.

Stopped in for an early dinner at Mama Khouri’s and had an awesome experience. The food is very clearly authentic Syrian/Lebanese and our waiter (who I also think may be the owner) was super nice and hospitable. We ended up ordering the tabbouleh salad, 3 piece falafel, hummus, za’atar pizza and the mujadra meal with a side salad. Everything was delicious and just how I would expect it to be (I am Lebanese so I tend to be a bit more critical of Lebanese restaurants). Overall I highly recommend Mama Khouri’s and would definitely be back to eat here again.

Service was awesome kind and prompt. Food was delicious and fresh. Fantastically priced

This place, HANDS DOWN, has the best shawarmas in town, the lamb shawarma can serve two and is so delicious. On top of this, the feta cheese plate is a must have, you will not regret it! I have also tried they’re specialty dishes such as the salmon and the lamb shank and it’s so gourmet for a great price! The chef/owner is such a nice guy, and I’m grateful, he gets to serve food from his culture in the most delicious way! This review has been long awaited and I’m so Thankful for this place. Thank you!

I ordered the chicken shwarma with rice and baba plate. Came with quite a flavorful starter salad that was a perfect refreshing starter meal with fresh greens, tomatoes, carrots in a tasty dressing (it was so good, I resolved to figure that one out at home). The building has the real soul of the old neighborhood, with a wonderful curved wooden ceiling. The owner clearly cares about his food and his customers. Bonus points for the classic Lebanese music!
